MVA Student Work Going Global!!!
This summer MVA staff was informed that our MVA students’ Culture of Climate Change documentaries are going to be shared at the International Union for the Conservation of Nature World Conservation Congress in Hawaii. So who attends this conference? World leaders, environmental organizations, policy makers, cultural organizations, faith-based programs, and global foundations will get to see the students’ projects and products that were made in last year’s expedition Culture of Climate Change. One of our partners in that expedition was the Chicago Botanical Garden, and three members from there are presenting an interactive poster at this conference. Their presentations has MVA as a partner school in which they showcase students climate posters, documentaries, and climate collages.
This fall, four students who showed exemplary work in all projects and their product in the Culture of Climate Change Expedition, will represent MVA by presenting their work at a conference held at the Chicago Botanical Garden. This presentation will be in collaboration with other partners, and will be live streamed on both the Chicago Botanical Garden website and the Climate Access website. You can watch this presentation of the students and two staff, Mrs. Smith and Mrs Fieri, on Tuesday, October 24, 2016, at 10:30.
Lastly, this work has been presented to teachers, administrators and companies around the country at both the National Green Schools Conference and the MidWest Environmental Education Conference. Our kids, your kids, are producing work with a purpose, a meaningful message, and doing work that is relevant in our world!
